Privacy Policy
Last updated August 3, 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal information ScreenshotBee collects, why we collect it, and how we handle it across screenshotbee.com and the ScreenshotBee API.
By using ScreenshotBee you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the service.
Information we collect
We collect two kinds of information: information you provide to us directly, and information collected automatically when you use the service.
- Account information: your email address, password (stored as a secure hash), company name and optional company website, provided when you create an account. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your name and email address from that provider.
- Billing information: payments are processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer reference, plan and payment status. We never see or store your full card number.
- Usage data: API requests, captured screenshots, capture parameters, schedules and activity history connected to your account, so we can provide the service and show you your own history.
- Log data: standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and timestamps, collected when you visit the site.
- Analytics: we use PostHog to understand how the product is used, for example which features are popular. This helps us improve ScreenshotBee.
Screenshot content
When you capture a screenshot, we render the URL or HTML you send and store the resulting image (and video, when requested) so you can access it from your activity history. You are responsible for the pages you choose to capture and for having the right to capture them. We do not use your captured screenshots for any purpose other than providing the service to you.
How we use your information
- To provide, operate and maintain the ScreenshotBee service
- To process payments and manage your credits and plan
- To send transactional email such as account verification, password resets, quota warnings and billing receipts
- To respond to support requests
- To understand product usage and improve the service
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud and security incidents
Third party services
We rely on a small set of processors to run ScreenshotBee. Each receives only what it needs to do its job:
- Supabase: database hosting and authentication
- Stripe: payment processing and invoicing
- Postmark: transactional email delivery
- Google Cloud: storage of captured screenshots and videos
- PostHog: product analytics
- Zapier: only when you connect a Zapier integration, in which case screenshots you route through Zapier are shared with your Zapier account
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your session. Analytics cookies help us understand product usage. You can block cookies in your browser, but signed in areas of the service will not work without them.
Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. Captured screenshots and activity history are retained so you can access your own records. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to keep it for legal, accounting or fraud prevention purposes.
Security
All traffic to ScreenshotBee runs over HTTPS. API access is scoped to your API key, which you can rotate at any time from the dashboard. Passwords are stored hashed, and access to production data is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using commercially reasonable practices.
Your rights
You can access and update your account information from the dashboard settings at any time. You can request a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and associated data by contacting support. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local data protection law, and we will honor requests in line with those laws.
Children
ScreenshotBee is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you by email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
